SURPRISE IM ALIVE!!!!

Nope im not dead and yes im pretty much talking to myself by blogging here... but its an excuse for me to put up my work somewhere in the very very rare case that I'm happy with what I produce. So eat me nonexistent followers I'll post em anyways!!! A few 10s and a couple 1 minute gestures at the bottom



Other than that I've been burning the midnight oil for my film. When I finalize my leica... for the 10th time now... I'll post it... assuming I don't light all copies on fire in a crime of passion first.

Been really busy with the 3rd year film over the past few weeks. Looking at about 32 seconds of animation total and with delays in getting final scratch tracks and been pulling long nights so not too much new stuff. Here are some life drawings I've done recently, alot of costume work.

I had an afternoon to myself and this has been an idea for a painting I've been toying with for a while, some Mario fan art if you will. I've been toying with new methods to my painting and I managed to do this entire thing in under 4 hours. Just building it up from the shadow on a low fill setting. Then touching up reflected light and the glow from the fire. The tricky part is getting a maniacal smirk on a character when you can't see his mouth.

Sheridans forcing out of the cozy womb and I have been forced to make a demo reel to get a job in the real world. Seems cold and frightening... I don't think I can take my umbilical cord with me...

Billy Magnificent

Well very little is known of what our group film will be like by the time we finalize our story. But right now what I can say is the story revolves around Billy Magnificent. The illegitimate child of a superhero. I've been working on his designs recently. Nothing's final yet, we still may end up tweaking in the next couple weeks.

all we can hope is the changes are for good, and that we work hard, and make this something we can be proud we did. This might be naive optimism after a month off from the film. But I hope any problems we have in the past, we can straighten our heads and powerhouse through this next semester.

So this semester we finally learnt to animate in 3d. I've been working on this over the break and managed to add an extra 8 seconds to my maya acting assignment. And Happy Holidays spent some time at home. Relaxed, doodled, and gorged on homecooked meals. Then returned and spent the rest of the break at the school working at the school or playing my drums at excessive amounts as all my roommates were home for the holidays. 

The voice clip is from office space... and I plan to incorporate in the demo reel I'll be putting up soon.

My action analysis is finally complete. I wish I had more time for the clean up and I ha a little problem getting the drybrush effect just right but I'm still proud of it. First animation done from design stage to postproduction.
