My action analysis is finally complete. I wish I had more time for the clean up and I ha a little problem getting the drybrush effect just right but I'm still proud of it. First animation done from design stage to postproduction.

RAWF '08

the joy of the field trip... told about it last minute of course. And assigned to our heaviest class dates. Of course also an important day for our group to meet and hammer out kinks in our story. Ended up booking it there on monday instead at the cost of the student discount. We laughed, we ate, we had allergic reactions, we drew rastafarian sheep...

pastels

I've been trying to familiarize myself with pastels in life drawing. So far it's been a constant struggle of colour experimentation. I ended up finding a mix i like. The colours kind of have that 50s pinup look to them. These 2 life drawings are the better ones of the life drawings i did this week.

NEW FILM IDEA!!

So I was just sitting around drawing and what started as a stupid doodle developed into the lil concept design of Vlad the Gravedigger. After some thought, I think I have a solid idea for my 4th year film... it's gotz zombies in it!! Because somethings just don't stay six feet under like they're suppos'd da.

Reading week with cybernetic upgrades perhaps?

I've been feeling very productive this reading week. Between sketching out character designs for our group film funpack, I managed to get this layout done as well.

This setting was inspired by my snowboarding trip to Telluride last year, as I still had pics from it. I drew the linework scanned it and painted it in photoshop. I was really happy with the sense of depth I got. After several attempts and styles to the sky. I ended up simplifying it completely as I felt a more painterly approach to the sky didn't quite match up to the style of the rest of the scene and instead outlined shapes to suggest snow blowing off the peaks.

life drawing portfolio 10/08

here are 2 that didn't quite make the cut for the portfolio but i like em all the same. Probably because every life drawing we were asked to hand in for our anatomy class was more an exercise than just any life drawing.

I'll scan some of the others when I get em back.

timmy and the lord of the underworld

With our action analysis assignment coming up i figured I'd finalize the character design with a turnaround. His name is Timmy, kept the name generic. So expect to see Timmy tearing sh*t up in future animations

When I first moved into my condo I went a full month without internet... meaning *gasp* a month of no Warcraft. I digitally painted this portrait of one of my characters. a lvl 69 undead rogue named Nekropheliak. Of course when i finally got internet I quit Warcraft all together. So this is dedicated to the end of nekropheliak, he lived he loved he pwned noobs.

Oh... and to clarify the character had no bottom jaw... he's undead... ummm I'm not clarifying that again

Sketchy sketches

It's been a while... with summer coop just around the corner I'm beginning to see more reasons to keep this blog updated. Expect many more posts in the near future as I try and get more updated work up here. To kick it off, I figured I'd pull out some recent charactures.

I've been starting to use markers more and more in the arsenal. Still a fairly new medium to me and a dent in my pocket but all the same.

These are some pen sketches I did near the end of a life drawing session yesterday. When people are all so distracted drawing themselves it makes things so much easier...
